Who We Are

VIRA Superyacht & Sailing Academy were established in 2006 to fill up the huge absence of Yacht Captain & Crew and Sailing careers in the superyacht industry throughout the Mediterranean region.

We were appointed as an IYT WW partner school in 2011 and became a Training Center for the MCA recognized Master of Yachts (Professional) Courses. IYT is the world’s leading provider of yacht training services – both recreational and professional.

Our school is a fully approved & authorized Private Marine School both by the Prime Ministry Undersecretaries of Maritime Affairs and Ministry of National Education of Government of Turkey.

VIRA SSA also is the only Marine School having ISO 9001:2008 certificate from LRQA (Lloyd Register of Shipping).

We provide high-quality education and training for the superyacht industry to meet the growing international demand for crew, officers and captains who are trained to the highest professional standards. We also provide a range of opportunities for professional and personal development up to master’s degree level. All professional course instructors and examiners are qualified professional mariners. We are very proud of the personal service we offer and of the skill and experience of our instructors which gives them the best possible leg-up the career ladder.
