Master Of Yachts - Limited 200GT - Power / Sail MCA Approved
Overview
The IYT Worldwide Master of Yachts Limited is a Certificate of Competency for operating Commercial Yachts in command of a vessel up to a maximum 200 tons, upto 150 nautical miles from the coast (Day or night, any weather).
The program is an extensive course designed to provide the highest standards of maritime education for both the professional and recreational yachtsman and woman. It is an intensive course designed for experienced crew with sufficient on the water experience.
To gain the IYT Worldwide Master of Yachts Limited certificate, both a theory course and exams and a 5 day practical on board course and practical exam must be successfully completed
Objective
The expected learning outcome is that the student understands the theory and practical applications of:
Navigation, pilotage and passage planning
Tides, Currents and Tidal calculations
International and (Local) Collision Regulations and buoyage
Meteorology
Anchoring, berthing and seamanship
Safety, Muster List, Station bill, Emergency Plans and contingencies
Basic stability and construction
Entry Standard
The MOY Limited Certification Programme is an extensive course designed to provide the highest standards of maritime education for both the professional and recreational mariner. It is an intensive course designed for experienced crew with sufficient on the water experience. This program is not for beginners; proof of the required sea time showing the necessary command endorsed time will be required upon booking
The Candidate should be 18 years of age or over
The Candidate should have adequate practical experience AT THE HELM of either a sail boat or twin screw power vessel.
The requirements are
3000 nautical miles
50 days on board at sea (a day = 24 hours)
30 hours on watch at night underway.
A physical/medical which must include eyesight and colour blindness check
Min VHF Operator certificates
Basic STCW certificates
